Upon arrival, the responding officer's initial investigation showed Bogan’s death was most likely the result of a homicide. Officers secured the scene and detained one adult male, identified as the victim's step-brother, at the location for further questioning. Homicide Investigators were notified and responded to the residence and assumed control of the investigation.

On Saturday evening, the Hemet Police Department stated in a press release that their follow up investigation had revealed, "Bogan had in fact been the victim of a homicide and she was killed at her Campus Way home sometime between Thursday night and early Friday morning." The press release went on to divulge, "Investigators ultimately arrested her roommate, and step-brother,
58 year old Edward Hill, in connection with Bogan’s murder."

Hill was later booked into custody on one count of homicide and later transported to the Robert Presley Detention Center and held on $1,000,000 bail.

Per the Hemet Police Department's press release, the investigation is still ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.

Anyone who has information regarding this case are urged to contact Investigator Doug Klinzing at the Hemet Police Department at (951) 765-2423.
