ABOUT THE OWNERS

In May 2006, Mike and Debbie, the owner-operators of Temecula Valley Cable Car Wine Tours, purchased a motorized 1914 San Francisco cable car with the intention of restoring it for the purpose of using it for local wine country tours.

In spite of Debbie's initial reluctance to purchase the vehicle due to the rough shape it was in, Mike saw the vehicle's unique potential. In his mind, Mike could visualize a restored San Francisco cable car running through the Temecula wine country, providing its riders a unique and fun experience not offered through any other wine tour in our area. Once they had purchased the vehicle, Mike and Debbie couldn’t wait to get it back to their 5 acre property in Temecula, so Mike could begin the restoration process before sending the vehicle out to ferry passengers to and from some of Temecula's most popular wineries.

Taking more than two years to refurbish to its original condition, Mike's endeavor required a lot of patience, sand paper, paint and mechanical parts. However, in the end, Mike and Debbie had a vehicle the Temecula wineries could be proud to see pulling up to their locations.

About his unique tour vehicle, Mike wrote, "The San Francisco cable car is the only historical moving monument left in the United States and even though their cable car is motorized, you will have the feel of San Francisco with the taste of Temecula Valley wine country. Remember, this is a real cable car not a trolley. (We) strive to take you back in time to 1914 on a historical monument and enjoy Temecula’s beautiful wineries."

In addition to their authentic 1914 cable car, Temecula Valley Cable Car Wine Tour provides two other vehicles for their fun and memorable tours, their Jolly Trolly and limo van.
