On September 16, 2015, investigators from the Lake Elsinore Police Department and members of the Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit responded to the 29000 block of McVicker Canyon Road to conduct a search for a missing person
.
Law enforcement personnel and members of the R.M.R.U. had come to the location after Reynaldo Sanchez had reported Hector Ramirez, a 44-year-old male, missing from the Lake Elsinore home where the two both resided. At approximately 1:30 p.m. a sheriff helicopter that was assisting in the search spotted human remains in a rural area of the canyon. The remains were later airlifted out of the canyon and were subsequently confirmed to be the body of Ramirez.

In a press release from the sheriff's department, Sergeant Steve Brosche wrote the investigation into Ramirez' death was ongoing, however, no signs of foul play were present or suspected. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact Investigator Cornett at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station at (951) 245-3300 or the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station via e-mail at: LakeElsinoreStation@RiversideSheriff.org
