There is no doubt this couple was arrested and booked into jail for felony Child Endangerment. However there is some confusion as to the part of the stories told in all the local media, including Hemet News BY THIS REPORTER that stated the children "WERE KEPT IN A LOCKED ROOM FOR OVER A YEAR" or "OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR" and that information came directly from the sheriff's department's own press release.
Now it is coming out that there might have been some confusion regarding the wording of that part of the press release. This potentially false or inaccurate information needs to be corrected or clarified immediately in order to save these parents from any further unnecessary or wrong judgement from the community. There can be no doubt that there was something found inside the residence that warranted the arrest of the parents and the removal of the children and placement into protective custody, whether that be in a foster or group home or with one of the children's family members. Regardless, if some of the facts about this case have been misunderstood, overstated or outright exaggerated, the truth needs to be understood, for the sake of all those involved.
I have reached out to one of the accused couple's family members in the hopes of getting more information so our community can get a better idea what was really occurring inside that home.
