Temecula, Calif.; On Tuesday September 29th, 2015, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Temecula Police station responded to a report of an unknown suspect who had reportedly harassed an 11-year-old girl as she was walking home from Margarita Middle School in the city of Temecula. Margarita Middle School is located on the 30600 block of Margarita Road north of Rancho California Road.

The incident was reported to have occurred on the afternoon of Monday September 28th, 2015, at approximately 2:50 p.m., as the victim was walking away from the school.

In a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Sgt. Jon Wade wrote that as the girl was walking on Margarita Road, she had reportedly walked past an older, gray, truck that was parked along the curb near the school. As the victim walked past the truck, a male occupant who was sitting inside the vehicle asked the girl a question, which the victim ignored as she kept walking.

The victim reported the driver then may have exited the vehicle and approached her on foot at which time the suspect reportedly attempted to grab the girl. The victim then ran away from the subject, fleeing to an undisclosed location.

The incident was reported to the Temecula Police Department on September 28. Regarding the incident, Sgt Wade wrote, "Our investigation is active and ongoing. The Riverside County Sheriff's Forensics Unit was called in order to create a composite drawing of the suspect that will be released to the public in an update to this press release."

The victim described the suspect vehicle as:
-An older gray, "boxy" truck.
The suspect was described as:
-A white male adult, approximately 30 years of age, 5'06, 200 lbs., with brown hair, a brown goatee, wearing an LA Dodgers baseball cap with a white bill, blue "sports jersey" shirt and khaki long shorts (past his knees).

Sgt. Wade stated investigators and deputies from the Temecula Police Department were working closely with school administrators from the Margarita Middle School regarding this incident and that their investigation was ongoing.

The Temecula Police Department took this opportunity to remind parents to talk with their children about strangers and to encourage their children to never walk home by themselves and to always walk home with other friends or parents from their school.

Sgt. Wade asked that anyone with information regarding this incident or anyone who might have seen the vehicle or the suspect contact the Temecula Police Department at (951) 696-3000. Callers can refer to incident file number TE152720024.
