Stolen Guns Recovered During Search Warrant
Hemet residents Luis Ojeda and Desiree Escalante were arrested Thursday evening following the service of a search warrant in the 400 block of Vernal Ln.
Hemet Police Investigators developed information that stolen property was being stored in the home and sought a search warrant Thursday afternoon. The warrant was granted and members of the Hemet Police Department served the warrant at about 6:30 pm, Thursday evening.
A search of the home resulted in the recovery of several items of stolen property from multiple burglaries in the Hemet / San Jacinto Valley. Among the items recovered were two loaded firearms from a burglary committed in Hemet on June 8th and a loaded firearm from a burglary committed in the unincorporated portion of Hemet in 2014.
Investigation revealed that Ojeda and Escalante were linked to the property and they were arrested. They were later transported to Riverside County Jail. This investigation is still ongoing.



Arrested #1:
Luis Ojeda: 29 year old Hemet resident.
Charges:
Possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, commit felony with prison priors, commit felony while out on bail.
BAIL:$40,00







Arrested #2:
Desiree Escalante, 31 year old Hemet resident.
Possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, commit felony with prison priors, commit felony while out on bail.
