On Friday, June 24th, Hemet Police Officers were faced with combative subjects during unrelated incidents.
At about 10:55 AM, Officers responded to the 900 block of Roxanne Dr regarding a domestic violence incident. The suspect was determined to be a 17-year old male who struck and choked his girlfriend. The juvenile suspect fled on foot upon officers arriving, but was located during a neighborhood search. Officers located the male juvenile who attempted to strike an officer in the face. The male juvenile was arrested for felony domestic violence and resisting a peace officer. The juvenile suspect was transported to Southwest Juvenile Hall. The female victim sustained minor injuries during the domestic violence altercation.
At about 1:55 PM, an officer was investigating a report of suspicious circumstances at Gibbel Park – 2500 W Florida Ave. A citizen reported drug activity occurring in the park’s restroom.
The officer encountered four people in the restroom, one of which violently resisted the officer. The suspect, Jimmie Taylor, then fled on foot. The officer gave chase as assisting officers established a perimeter and searched for Taylor. Taylor was located hiding in the trash enclosure near the El Pollo Loco restaurant. Taylor was taken into custody and arrested for violation of his Post Release Community Supervision, resisting a peace officer, and possession of a narcotic. Taylor was transported to Riverside County Jail – no bail. Taylor is a43-year old transient and on Post Release Community Supervision for possession of a controlled substance.
One officer sustained a hand injury during the incident involving Taylor.
