Officer Injured - Suspect Located in Fontana
On Sunday, June 26th, at about 3:15 AM, Hemet Police Officers conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Lyon and Latham Ave. One of the occupants in the vehicle was 21-year old Adolfo Quintana. Quintana, a Hemet resident, was known to have a felony warrant for violation of his Post Release Community Supervision – PRCS for felony resisting a peace officer.
As an officer contacted Quintana, Quintana broke away from the officer and a foot pursuit resulted. The officer chasing Quintana sustained a significant injury and was no longer able to continue his pursuit. Quintana was able to evade officers.
Later, Hemet Police Officers resumed the search of Quintana which led to the city of Fontana. Hemet Police Officers, assisted by Fontana Police, attempted to contact Quintana at an apartment complex in north Fontana. Quintana attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended by Hemet Police K9 Jack. Quintana continued to resist, but was taken into custody.
Quintana was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for medical clearance and was admitted to the jail ward. Quintana was booked on the Post Release Community Supervision warrant and held without bail. Hemet Police will be contacting the Riverside County District
Attorney’s office regarding charges for the earlier incident that resulted in 
an injury to an officer.
