Eduardo Marroquin, 29 years old from Hemet starts new year out with Attempted Homicide

On January 1, 2016, in the early morning hours, Hemet Sheriff’s deputies went to the 24000 block of Tigris Lane, Hemet in response to several shots heard coming from a residence.
 A family member reported they had been shot with an assault-style rifle and the suspect had retreated back into the residence. Since other family members were still inside the residence at the time, the Sheriff’s SWAT Team was called out.

Due to the close working relationship with the city of Hemet Police Department, they also assisted with the incident by responding additional personnel, a K-9 Officer, and an armored vehicle. Based on the coordinated efforts of law enforcement, they successfully apprehended the suspect inside the residence, and brought this volatile incident to a safe conclusion. The victim was transported and treated at a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening wounds.

Arrested was Eduardo Marroquin, 29 years old from Hemet, on charges of attempted homicide. Marroquin was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for the related charges.
