traffic collision on Highway 74 and Calvert Ave, just border of west Hemet takes 1 life

At about 4:15 am, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire responded to an injury traffic collision on Highway 74 and Calvert Ave, just border of west Hemet. 

When arriving on scene they located two vehicles involved in the collision, a white van on it’s side blocking the roadway and a car. 

The driver of the gray car was declared deceased on scene, while the surviving passengers aboard the vehicles were transported by paramedics to a local hospital for minor injuries. 

he eastbound lane of Highway 74 was blocked while the investigation and cleanup of the roadway were taking place. Weather may have played a factor in the collision.
