Physician Arrested for sexually assaulting a patient in San Diego County while medicated








On Monday, April 27, 2020, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department received information from the Escondido Police Department an arrest had been made regarding a physician who sexually assaulted a patient in San Diego County.
According to Escondido Police Department;
“On Saturday, March 28th, 2020, a female victim reported to the Escondido Police Department she had been sexually assaulted by her physician, Dr. Leng Thai Ky, a 40-year-old anesthesiologist from Poway, while she was unconscious.
EPD detectives investigated the case throughout the weekend, gathering further evidence of the assault, and developed probable cause to arrest Ky. On Monday morning, March 30th, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force, Ky was taken into custody. Leng Thai Ky was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on the evening of March 30th, 2020 for the following charges:
287(i) PC – Oral Copulation – Oral copulation with a drugged victim
287(f) PC – Oral Copulation – Oral copulation with an unconscious victim
289(D) PC – Sexual penetration with an unconscious victim
289(E) PC – Sexual penetration, victim unable to resist due to anesthetic substance
243.4(A) PC – Sexual Battery
245(A)(4) PC – Assault with a Deadly Weapon
222 PC – Giving drugs to Aid in a felony”
Dr. Leng Ky has been a doctor for over 8-years and has associations with mostly San Diego County clinics and hospitals. However, he has been associated to the Desert Clinic Pain Institute on Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage and the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
