HEMET – A popular Hemet restaurant, El Patron, was destroyed by a blaze that burned out of control after it caught fire Thursday Dec. 22. The restaurant is located in the 41000 block of Highway 74 in the Little Lake community in the unincorporated area of Hemet.
Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters responded to reports of the early-morning blaze at the restaurant at 1:35 a.m.
25 firefighters from seven engine companies were initially dispatched to the fire, according to Cal Fire Riverside County Fire Public Information Officer April Newman. They were assisted by a Breathing Support Unit and a Medic Squad.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Hemet and San Jacinto Police Stations responded to the location to assist with crowd and traffic control.
The first arriving engine company reported a large, 3,000 square foot commercial restaurant with heavy smoke and fire showing through the roof.
Firefighters immediately began to mount an aggressive attack against the fire. In spite of their efforts and the intermittent rain, the fire continued to grow.

In addition, Ms. Steiger will discuss her role in Mr. Savage’s upcoming film “The Wind of Heaven”, a major motion picture scheduled to begin production in the spring of 2017.

Also attending will be two of the film’s stars: Wolfgang Bodison (“A Few Good Men”, “Bones”) and Oscar Torre (“The Hangover III”, CSI, Miami”). A reception with the film's cast and crew will follow the event. Ms. Steiger will also be on hand to sign copies of her new book "Brooklyn Baby", along with the book's cowriter David Minasian, one of The Wind of Heaven's producers. Festival director Stephen Savage will again host this lively talk with Ms. Archer, regarding her much heralded career, which includes landmark performances in some of Hollywood’s greatest films, such as “Fatal Attraction”, “Clear and Present Danger”, and “Patriot Games”, to name only a few, and her working relationships with people like Michael Douglas, Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone, and Tommy Lee Jones. The documentary has created quite a stir among feminist groups around the world, as Ms. Jaye shines a pragmatic light on just what these men have to say, and why they may not be quite the womanizing cave men they’ve been made out to be. Also on the documentary front, “Hired Gun”, a look at some of the LA Music Scene's top session players and side musicians from the 70s to the present day, and the influence they’ve had on music in general and rock stars in particular, most of them make a living playing, singing, and songwriting in relative obscurity.
