Armed Robbery and Attempted Murder by Active Gang Members



 




On Thursday August 28, 2019, about 11:55 PM, Jurupa Valley Patrol Deputies were dispatched to an armed robbery in the 2700 block of Rubidoux Blvd. in Jurupa Valley. This business is a local marijuana dispensary. This violent take over robbery resulted in several victims being shot suffering life threatening injuries. At the time of the robbery, there were limited investigative leads.
On Tuesday October 22nd, 2019, Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Officers from Region-7 and Investigators from the Jurupa Valley Detective Bureau began reviewing surveillance videos that were seized the night of the robbery and later developed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Departments Computer and Technology Crime High-Tech Response Team (CATCH).  While reviewing the surveillance videos, Task Force Officers were able to identify the four suspects who violently robbed the marijuana dispensary and shot the victims. All four of the suspects are documented gang members to a local criminal street gang within Jurupa Valley.
Over the course of several months, Task Force Officers, with the assistance of Riverside Police Department’s Gang Intelligence Unit, the Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team and Detective Bureau, the Sheriff’s Department Special Investigations Bureau Major Crimes Unit, and the Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Warrant Enforcement Team were able to surveille the suspects and safely take them in to custody without incident.
Task Force Officers authored several search warrants, and with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Department’s SWAT team, served search warrants for the suspect’s residences and recovered numerous items of evidence linking the suspects to this violent armed robbery. Arrested were the following:

All four suspects were later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on the below listed charges:
  • Attempted Murder with a Firearm.
  • Armed Robbery with a Firearm.
  • Criminal Street Gang Membership.
  • Conspiracy.

The Region 7 Gang Task Force is one of five teams composing the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, with the goal of combating criminal street gangs throughout Riverside County. The Region 7 Gang Task Force is composed of members from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, and Riverside County Probation.
