East Hemet CHP DUI CheckPoint took 4 drunk drivers off our Hemet Streets









RIVERSIDE COUNTY – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) San Gorgonio Pass Area conducted an Office of Traffic Safety checkpoint focusing on impaired and unlicensed drivers and on Saturday night (December 14, 2019). The checkpoint was located in the eastbound lanes of SR-74 (Florida Avenue) west of Las Flores Avenue in the Hemet Valley and operated from approximately 10:00 PM to 2:30 AM.


A total of 253 vehicles passed through the checkpoint resulting in four DUI arrests.Additionally, five vehicles were impounded for driving without a license or driving with a suspended license and six citations were written for various infractions.

A DUI checkpoint is an effective tool against intoxicated drivers, by targeting roadways that have a high frequency of drunk driving arrests or collisions. This ensures that each and every motorist in the Hemet / San Jacinto valley area can feel safer driving on the road.
