Details:

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, around the noon hour, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the City of Perris regarding an infant who had drowned.  Deputies quickly located the baby and immediately began life-saving efforts by administering CPR and First Aid.  Within minutes, paramedics from the California Department of Forestry and American Medical Response arrived on-scene and continued CPR before transporting the baby to the hospital.
While at the hospital, medical personnel continued to pursue the same life-saving measures, but the baby succumbed to his injuries.  As a result of the incident, an investigation was initiated in an attempt to identify the components that led to the baby’s death.  The baby’s mother and several of her family members were interviewed by Sheriff’s Investigators, but no arrests were made at the time.
