4 arrested in Oasis for extortion, assault, armed robbery, and kidnapping for ransom

Oasis, Calif., On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 4:00 a.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Emergency Services Team (SERT), served three search warrants at three different locations, in connection with an extensive extortion, assault, armed robbery, and kidnapping for ransom investigation from an incident that occurred on September 17, 2015, in the unincorporated community of Oasis.
With assistance from the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force, and various specialized units from the Sheriff's Thermal Station, all three search warrants were served simultaneously.
During the initial reported incident, an unidentified adult, a resident of Oasis, was kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint. The victim was then driven to an undisclosed location where he was assaulted.
After receiving information about the incident, deputies from the Thermal Station conducted a lengthy investigation and identified several suspects in connection with this incident. Based on their investigation, deputies obtained several search warrants for various locations, including in the 75000 block of Pierce Street and the 76000 block of Avenue 76 in Oasis. The locations had been identified in connection to the original incident that occurred in September.

During the service of those search warrants, six rifles, six handguns, one shotgun, five high-capacity magazines, a stolen firearm, numerous rounds of ammunition, gang indicia, a large sum of US currency, and items consistent with the sales of narcotics were seized as evidence.
A press release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department indicated the following subjects were arrested in connection with this incident:
Albin Tadeo, 18-years-old, from Oasis, was arrested and booked into the Indio Jail for victim and witness intimidation.
Jesus Tadeo, 21-years-old, from Oasis, was arrested and booked into the Indio Jail for victim and witness intimidation.
Fernando Chavez, 26-years-old, from Oasis, was arrested and booked into the Indio Jail for possession of Methamphetamine for sales, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm while selling narcotics.
An unidentified 16-year-old male juvenile, from Oasis, was arrested and booked into Indio Juvenile Hall for kidnapping for ransom, carjacking, armed-robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and extortion.
Regarding this incident, Sgt. White wrote, "The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information regarding this case is encouraged to immediately contact Deputy Jose Munoz, or Deputy James Knudson of the Coachella Valley Community Services District Team at (760) 863-8990, or Valley Crime stoppers at (760) 341-STOP (7867)."
