Recap of today's meeting of the Hemet News Team

Hemet, Calif.; Today the entire Hemet News Team got together at the Hemet News Headquarters (...LOL...) and all those on the team finally got an opportunity to meet in the same place at the same time! ....perhaps a first?.... All our team members got to talk about current issues, strategies, plans for the community, complaints (very, very few surprisingly!) For the first time we all got to shake hands and share hugs and actually put a live person's face and voice behind all the never-ending typing, phone calls, texts, radio-time and private messages.
Because we have so many new faces at Hemet News, (like me and my gorgeous wife Robin,) we started our meeting off by introducing ourselves and telling a little bit about our backgrounds. For Robin and I, the best part of the entire meeting was when everyone had that chance to go around the circle and introduce themselves to the group.
As everyone went around and and talked a bit about their lives and personal experiences, as well as what they want for their community, this entire valley and for Hemet News, the recurring themes quickly became obvious.
Over and over again, as we got to know all these new friends and "co-volunteers" Robin and I were overwhelmed at all of the love of/and for our community that our team members exhibit.
We heard over and over again about a true desire to bring about positive change for our valley. But most of all, we saw extreme positivity. It was an amazing experience to be around so many positive people who have a united vision for ways we all can work together to better our community and bring about a new awareness of all the good things that happen in and around Hemet.
Yes, we post a lot of news reports related to the crime and bad things that happen in our valley and beyond, but most of our readers, (not all, but most...LOL) really believe it is important to know what is happening in and around our valley!
At the end of the meeting, I felt like I had made 20 new friends and I couldn't wait to hang out with this amazing and dedicated group again!
I don't think many people really understand how truly blessed this valley is to have such a professional group of all-volunteer staff providing the news for them. At least now I know.
