On Friday evening, on October 9, 2015, at approximately 11:10 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Jurupa Valley Station were dispatched to the report of a shooting that had occurred in the 5300 block of Odell Street in Jurupa Valley.

Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound at the location. The unidentified victim was found bleeding in the roadway. Deputies provided first aid to the victim and called for emergency medical personnel to assist.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the shooting incident.

Jurupa Valley investigators and investigators from the Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit responded to the location and assumed the investigation. This investigation is ongoing and the victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
