Felon Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon Subject Arrested with Use of Force by Police
Convicted Felon, Ernest Galvan, a 27 year old resident of San Jacinto
was arrested this evening for assault with a deadly weapon, vehicle theft,
and a parole violation.
A little after 3:00 p.m. on January 27th the Hemet Police Dispatch Center
received a call of a vehicle theft that had just occurred from a car wash in the 100
block of N. Inez St. The victim, after almost being run over, chased the vehicle on foot
and saw it drive north on State St. and turn east onto Menlo Ave.
The vehicle was described as a brown GMC truck. A few minutes later, Hemet Police
Officers spotted the vehicle, stuck in traffic in the area of Menlo Ave. and San Jacinto St.
The driver of the vehicle Galvan, refused to exit and he was pulled out of the vehicle.
Galvan refused to follow the officers’ commands and a use of force occurred. Galvan was ultimately taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for
medical clearance before being transported to the Riverside County Jail.
The truck was released to the victim at the scene. Further investigation revealed that
Galvan got into the victim’s truck while it was being washed and that the victim ran
to the vehicle and pleaded with Galvan to get out of the truck. Rather than stopping,
Galvan rapidly accelerated and almost ran the victim over before fleeing the scene.

Ernest Galvan, 27 year old resident of San Jacinto.
Charges:
Assault with a deadly weapon, vehicle theft, assault on a police officer, and a parole violation.
Bail:
None.
