Officer Hears Early Morning Alarm - Results in Arrest
On August 31, 2015, at 4:10 am, a Hemet police officer was patrolling the downtown area when he heard an audible alarm. The officer exited his police vehicle and started to walk the area on foot. To the rear of 100 N. Harvard he saw a male carrying a cash register fleeing the scene. Officers converged on the location and detained the suspect.
Officers located a business that had the glass entry door smashed out. During the investigation officers also located property inside the business that was accidentally left at the location by the suspect. Officers also found that the suspect had a felony warrant with a bail amount of $501,000 out of San Bernardino County for narcotics violations. The suspect was booked at Hemet P.D. and later transferred to county jail. All of the property was returned to the business owner.
