Multiple Agencies Team Up to Inspect Massage Parlors
On Thursday August 27, 2015 members of the City of Hemet R.O.C.S. Taskforce teamed up
with members of two different California State agencies to conduct inspections at several
massage parlors in Hemet. The teams inspected four massage parlors to ensure no illicit activity
was occurring and that there were no unpermitted changes to the buildings.
Several code
violations were discovered as well as numerous violations of the state tax code, and state
employment code. There were no sex crimes discovered, and no arrests were made however; all
of the businesses were issued notices for minor code violations, and two of the establishments
were issued orders by the State agencies to stop conducting business immediately until the
violations are corrected.
In 2012 the City of Hemet formed the R.O.C.S. (Restoring Our Community Strategy) Taskforce
to target quality of life issues within the city. The R.O.C.S. taskforce includes members of the
following City of Hemet departments: Building, Code Enforcement, Fire, and Police. Today’s
operation included members of the Hemet Police Department and City of Hemet Code
Enforcement Officers. The State agencies that participated in today’s operation requested to not
be named in this release.
