Hemet Police responds to multiple shots fired with one victim shot on Devonshire/Elk
At just after midnight, July 26, Hemet Police dispatchers began receiving numerous 911 calls about a shooting near Elk and Devonshire in Hemet. Callers reported hearing 12-15 shots fired and a woman was struck by gunfire. She was transported to our local trauma center in Moreno Valley and her condition is unknown at this time.
I am still working on nailing down all the facts for my own written article, but one of the news teams I work with got some pretty intense video footage of the scene after the shooting.
The chaotic scene nearly devolved into a riot and much of it was caught on video by Eddie George and the Hemet News team, a local community news reporting group.
