A police chase ensued around 10:30 PM involving a late model white Acura.
With speeds reaching 110 miles an hour the suspect was chased from Hemet, to San Jacinto up Ramona Express way and back down to the city of Parris.
Upon seeing more police the suspect than preformed a U-Turn and headed back to the San Jacinto area where RSO had set up spike strips along warren road and esplanade.
RSO was able to deflate the front passenger tire. Riding on three tires he suspect continued onto Jordan where he stopped his vehicle and was taken into custody.
Found was a loaded shot gun as well as drug paraphernalia. Currently Steven Barden 38, from Phalan CA has been booked into the Smith Correctional Facility.
He has been charged with Evading, Felony Possession of a Fire Arm, Felon Possession of Ammo, Possession of a controlled substance, as well as Use of a controlled substance.
