Lake Elsinore Edwin Sangalang of 45 Yrs old arrested for 200 accounts of Sexual assault of a 13 yr old female

On Monday, July 15, 2019, Lake Elsinore Station deputies responded to the 2400 block of Gazania Way in the city of Lake Elsinore in reference to a report of Lewd and Lascivious Acts involving an adult male and a 13-year-old female juvenile.  Due to the sensitive nature of this incident, investigators assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station assumed the investigation.

The investigation revealed Edwin Sangalang, a 45-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, began an inappropriate sexual relationship with the 13-year-old female juvenile approximately four years ago.  During this time period, Sangalang lived in the cities of Chino Hills and Perris, prior to moving to the city of Lake Elsinore within the past year.  On Tuesday, July 16, 2019, Investigators responded to the city of Los Angeles and arrested Sangalang at his place of employment for approximately 200 counts of felony sexual assault.  Sangalang was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center and is being held on an one-million-dollar bail.
