Felon Sent Back to Jail Following Pursuit
Levi Loyle, a 26 year old Hemet Transient was arrested Monday night by Hemet Police Officers after he led them on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle.
Just before 8:30 pm on Monday the 8th, two Hemet Police Officers were patrolling in the 2100 block of E. Florida Ave. as part of an anti-impaired driving operation. The officers spotted a black Nissan truck driving on Florida Ave. with no taillights. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle however; it sped away, driving north on Columbia St.
The vehicle briefly stopped in the 100 block of N. Columbia St. but sped away again as the officers exited their vehicle. A pursuit was initiated and Loyle led officers on a chase that wound through parts of north east Hemet and into the City of San Jacinto.
Loyle drove the vehicle into a mobile home park in the 2100 block of S. San Jacinto St. (San Jacinto) and then drove the vehicle through a chain link fence on the south side of the park. Loyle continued to flee from the officers until he arrived in an alley in the 900 block of Campus Wy. where he surrendered to officers with no further incident.
Investigation revealed that the truck had previously been reported as a stolen vehicle and that there was an active ‘no bail’ felony warrant in the system for Loyle’s arrest.
