Hemet Police responds to a man Shot During Robbery at an illegal Marijuana dispensary in Hemet

A man was shot Thursday night during a robbery at a business in the 600 block of N. Jan Jacinto St. in Hemet.

At about 9:43 pm, the City of Hemet Police Dispatch Center received a call of shots being fired in the 600 block of N. San Jacinto St. Responding officers located a male victim inside the business, who had been shot multiple times. Medical aid was provided and the victim was transported to a local hospital. The victim is expected to survive his wounds. The Hemet Police Detective Bureau responded to assume the investigation.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the location is an illegal Marijuana dispensary and that at about 9:40 pm, three black male suspects entered the location to commit a robbery. At least two of the suspects were armed with handguns and the victim barricaded himself inside a room in the business. The suspects fired their guns into the room, striking the victim several times. The suspects took an unknown amount of cash and drugs and fled in an unknown direction a short time later.
